Improved Payments and Child Success (IMPACS) Program
The Improved Payments and Child Success (IMPACS) Program is an employment and case management program for noncustodial parents in Colorado who are struggling to pay child support. Through our service providers, Goodwill of Colorado, Hilltop Family Resource Centers, and Cornerstone Resource Center, we serve parents living in Adams, Baca, Delta, Denver, Jefferson, Kiowa, Larimer, Las Animas, Montrose, Prowers, and Pueblo counties.
How does IMPACS work?
There are two ways to participate in IMPACS:
Once you are connected to one of our service providers, the organization will determine your eligibility and work to understand your needs, challenges, and interests before creating an action plan to help you overcome any barriers you’re facing and find a job.
A referral to IMPACS or completion of the online enrollment form does not guarantee participation in the program. Prospective participants must meet eligibility criteria to be enrolled and sign a written Release of Information allowing child support services to make referrals to community partners.
IMPACS Eligibility Requirements:
- Has a child support case with a current order for a child under 18*
- Is the noncustodial parent on the case
- The child support case is managed by a participating county (Adams, Baca, Delta, Denver, Jefferson, Kiowa, Larimer, Las Animas, Montrose, Prowers, or Pueblo County).
- The case is not IV-E, meaning the Child Welfare Agency is not involved in the case
- Has a yearly household income (wages & benefits, UI, social security) under $75,000
- Is unemployed or underemployed but has the ability to work
*The child support case can be arrears only as long as the noncustodial parent has a child under 18 years old (can be on a different case, or in the home).
For questions about your eligibility for the IMPACS program, please talk to your child support caseworker.
