Suspensions & Denials

Driver's License Suspension
The Colorado Division of Child Support Services (CSS) has the authority to request the Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to suspend an individual's driver's license for the non-payment of child support. If suspended, an individual must obtain a Notice of Compliance from CSS and meet DMV's requirements in order to reinstate their privilege to drive. Professional and Occupational License Suspension
CSS is authorized to suspend professional and occupational licenses of individuals who are past due in their child support obligations. If suspended, they must obtain a Notice of Compliance from CSS and meet the requirements of their particular licensing board at Dept. of Regulatory Agencies to regain a professional/occupational license.

Recreational License Suspension
CSS is authorized to suspend or deny hunting and fishing licenses of individuals who are past due in their child support payments. Individuals who are seeking to hunt or fish must meet the requirements of CSS and Division of Wildlife to regain the privilege to hunt and fish.

Passport Denial
CSS has the authority to deny a passport for a person with past due child support obligations.
